"Dr. Scheflan — We have an average of 2.5 to 3.5 cm circumference reduction per treatment. The response rate to this technology is about 95%. Contour I destroys the excess fat cells and they do not regrow. We ask patients to maintain a low carbohydrate diet during treatment so the body can use the emulsified fat instead of ingested carbohydrates. The secret to effective treatment is patient positioning. Tape the treatment area so that the fat is bulging out. Aesthetic patients are demanding and expect outstanding results. Patient satisfaction is surprisingly high.

Dr. Inglefield — We see an average circumference loss of just over 6.0 cm with 96% of patients very satisfied with the results.
The results seem long term, and our experience shows that the fat reduction is permanent. As with any body contouring treatment carried out as part of a good diet and exercise program, results are maintained. Careful patient selection is the most important factor, and careful positioning and strapping of the treatment is also necessary

Dr. Ascher — Out of 130 patients, 64% showed a 2 to 4 cm circumferential reduction. About 30% of patients who have gotten a 2 to 7 cm reduction have maintained long-term results. We find that three treatments at three week intervals, with an additional treatment two months later, produces optimal results. Among patients in our preliminary clinical study, 50% were very to quite satisfied, 38% were little satisfied and 12% were not satisfied.

Borelli — About 60% of my patients see significant improvement. It’s still too early to say how long that improvement will last, but the results have persisted so far and we are happy with that. Most patients, about 70%, are satisfied with the results.

Dr. Polla — Approximately 80% of patients obtain favorable results, with the remaining 20% seeing less diminution in the deep, spotty fat depositions than estimated during the initial consultation. Patients who take care of themselves and have good results may see persistence up to one year. Keep in mind that patients are strictly selected.

What adverse events are associated with Contour I treatment, how long do they last,
and how are they treated?

Dr. Inglefield — If anything, there can be mild discomfort during treatment and mild erythema afterwards. Erythema subsides within about one hour without special treatment. We have not
seen severe adverse events.

Dr. Polla — We have not yet observed any side effects"

" Hi Ok, so I had my treatment yesterday. It was very straight forward. The doctor drew on my tummy, took some photos and then measured me. The treatment uses a computer which tells the doctor where he needs to place the hand piece that delivers the ultra sound. Its all rather high tech and fool-proof and apparently is designed to give even results. Some oil was put on my tummy so the hand piece could glide over my skin, and then it was just moved every few seconds (as instructed by the computer) until the area had been covered. I didn't feel a thing, which was almost weird cos i just expected it to tingle or something. The whole thing took just over an hour and I was able to drive back home. The only thing I have to do now is stick to a low carb diet for four days, which shouldn't be too hard. The doctor said it may take a few weeks until I can see/measure the loss so I'm going back at the end of the month to be measured again. So far, It's been a really positive experience. The clinic was professional looking and easy to get to and the staff were friendly and informative. I just hope the treatment works! But how great is that? To be able to get rid of stubborn fat without having risky surgery, no drugs and no recovery time!"

In Holland some doc has almost destroyed the good name of Ultrashape by offering the treatment as a weight loss methode, unbelievable ! Ultrashape will NOT make anyone loose significant weight, in fact fat is very light. Ultrashape works, period. I was convinced by their own research, and now we have a collection of records that shows a reduction in cm with no weight loss which can only be explained by the fact that fat cells are gone.

Yes, there is a circumference change in almost every woman during the same month. This change however is noted in the abdom area. So how to explain cm loss at the thighs ? How come woman are telling us they are fitting in pants that they could not fit into for years despite the fact that they have not lost weight? Are they hallucinating ? No, facts are facts. On the other hand I have never ever seen so many clinical studies by any treatment. Why would a company go to such great lenghts as to proof their method?

Because they know that the machine they invented is NOT going to be very welcomed by the medical community ! Would you like to have a machine replacing your liposuction practice ? No because it would mean loss of income, period. Let those who do not believe not stand in the way of those making progress. "

Price from an Ultrashape customer July 28, 2007

An ultrashape customer emailed me today about the price that she paid for an Ultrashape treatment I believe in Mexico, can not confirm exact doctor name, but it was in TJ, Tijuana.

I got a treatment back in January and I was notified by Dr. C's office that the price depends on the area, the bigger the area, the higher the price. Also, I only got 1 area done - the stomach, and had 3 treatments.


Here is what Pam S e-mailed me today -

I read several of your responses on various sites about Ultrashape. I returned from TJ yesterday and need to tell you your prices are very old. 3 gringo stomach treatments are now $1200 and 3 abdomen treatments are $2400 so a single treatment in both areas is $1200 plus a 3% credit card processing charge.

You don't say how well you speak Spanish so maybe you got a better rate. I asked for multiple area discount and was told no, however my grade school spanish was sufficuent enough to hear a quote of $1000 to a mexican woman. I didn't catch for which area, but since I got a full price list to do all treament areas and none of them cost $1000 there is a double standard in TJ.

I had signed up single treatment in 3 areas for abs, front thighs and inner thighs ($2800). Got through the inner thighs then the machine went down and they couldn't finish treatment. I'm now waiting to see if a get a postive result on inner thigh before commiting any more money to this.

The only thing that I can think of is that the size treated was different. For example, my 1 friend SM paid 1 higher price for her treatment, than my smaller friend AC, who had a smaller area, paid a lower price. If I can remember correctly, the price difference was about 200. So again, the size treated determines the price.

And, all 3 of us have only had ONE area done , the stomach area. We did not get thigh treatments, so that may also why the price was lower for us.

I used to teach high school Spanish so I am fluent in Spanish.

If it helps, the Cancun doctor that I called 3 months ago was charging 1350 for one (1) treatment, I only asked about the stomach area, did not inquire about stomach and thighs. There is more than doctor who offer ultrashape in Cancun.

Woman Performed Illegal Lipo, Tummy Tucks, Police Say posted: July 28, 2007

BLOOMINGTON, California -- A local beauty salon owner has been arrested in connection with allegedly performing illegal plastic surgery. Authorities raided the Diamond Cut salon in Bloomington and two residences. The investigation began in April.A 39-year-old woman who is not a licensed physician was allegedly performing cosmetic procedures, including liposuction and tummy tucks, according to police.
It was not known if the woman was licensed in another country, investigators said.There was also evidence found in a mobile home that led investigators to believe the woman was performing plastic surgery there, police said. Who would buy a tummy tuck in a nail salon?

"An excellent question!! That process has, to my knowledge not been fully divulged to anyone or undergone any clinical, peer-reviewed trials in the US to determine effectiveness. Our societies have discouraged us from engaging in treatments such as this because they have not been scientifically evaluated in the US. The term "mesotherapy" means trying to treat or dissolve fat with injections. Quite typically, the effectiveness of a medical treatment is inversely proportional to the amount of advertising used to promote it. I would advise waiting until there is an approved and accepted type of injection treatment for fat. I do not do "Lipozap" because it is a name coined for one specific type of injection. If it is still around in another year, then perhaps it will have been investigated. I would also check on the credentials of the doctor or find out who exactly administers the "Lipozap" treatment to each patient."

This majic wand really worked. How I first learned about Ultrashape Contour I

Ultrashape has no needles, is painless, and it does work. And I've heard from real, happy Ultrashape customers and they are happy that they tried it. It is not lipozap. My results with Ultrashape . .

Well because of Ultrashape, I can NOW get into my FAVORITE floral dress in the pic below. Due to chemotherapy and 7 surgeries from cancer in 2005/20006, I could not put this dress around my waist as I had gained a tummy from medical menopause. I was so depressed, tried the gym, tried walking hours every week, triedocbootcamp 4x, everything! And nothing would get rid of my stubborn menop. stomach fat! Nothing! So that is why I think Ultrashape will work for anyone, as it did work for this former post-menopausal, big, stubborn tummy of mine.

But now, I was lucky after researching all about Ultrashape and found my new majic wand called Ultrashape, which came to my rescue . .


and now I DO have a waist, and now in March 2007 I have lost over 4.75" inches around my waist, thanks to Ultrashape, Dr. Cueva and Ana Maria. (And to Glamour magazine who wrote about it 2 years ago, where I first learned all about this non surgical, no liposuction solution.)

Lipodissolve, as it is widely known, [or fig.com ] www.fig.com entails injecting small amounts of soy lecithin and bile salt directly into problem areas on the hips, waist, thighs, and buttocks, and voilà! the fat supposedly melts away. Sensing the next Botox, doctors from pediatricians to dermatologists have taken a weekend seminar and opened fat-dissolving clinics. "What once was a dream is now a reality," claims the website of LipoNOW clinic in Scottsdale, Ariz. Ross is seeking to get her money back. Jean Shepherd, fig.'s vice president of marketing, said in an E-mail that in such a situation, "the patient would be entitled to a refund and it would be processed in a timely manner." The company and the industry, she said, continue to study why some people don't respond to treatment."

I did ultrashape and got satisfactory results. It definitely doesn’t get rid of large amounts of fat but if you workout and eat healthy and still have trouble spots it’s great.

It was not painful at all and I went back to normal activities immediately.

I have only done one session but I might do another one just to get more ripped. I would only recommend it to people who want to fine tune. as far as not being fda approved, the fda is a pawn of special interest groups so I’m sure they are in no hurry to approve a procedure that doesn’t require medication, hospital stays, anesthesia, and is a fraction of the cost. Several countries that are far more advanced and cautious about plastic surgery have approved it. it’s been 3 months and I’ve had absolutely no side effects. I encourage everyone to do their own research, but my experience was positive although not that dramatic.

My 2 friends have now lost 2" inches from their waist, after 1 treatment at Dr. C's office in TJ Mexico. (I lost over 4.5 inches and I had 3 treatments in Jan, Feb, and March.) And I've kept them off.

They went to Tijuana Mexico and tried Ultrashape. They are excited, and over the moon that it did work for them! They are both paying customers, like me just fyi. One is veryyy grateful, because before she saw my results, and until recently, she was realllly close to getting liposuction surgery with the 4 weeks plus of downtime, bruises, etc. and also thought of lipozap and lipodissolve.

But, she did not want surgery, and she thought, well I will wait and see how much it costs. Well now she is thrilled and wearing a dress that she has not worn in over a year, like me, too exciting, and WITHOUT sugery, choosing the wand instead. UltraShape: More Non-Invasive Liposuction
It seems that the market for non-invasive, non-suction, liposuction continues to pick up steam with the release of the UltraShape. This device is similar to the LipoSonix because they both utilize focused high intensity ultrasound to disrupt subcutaneous adipose tissue, and both appear to have scientifically sound research to support their claims. However, the UltraShape has added an "optical tracking and guidance system" for improved outcomes.

Therapeutic Transducer (the wand that is magic, for me)
The UltraShape™ patented transducer delivers focused ultrasound energy to the subcutaneous fat layer. Specific, pre-set ultrasound parameters ensure that only the fat cells within the treatment area are targeted and that neighboring tissues such as blood vessels, nerves and connective tissue remain intact. The hand held device also contains an acoustic feedback mechanism that verifies optimal acoustic contact during the treatment.
Advanced Tracking and Guidance System
The real-time tracking system guarantees treatment precision and homogenous treatment results. A camera captures the treatment area and a software algorithm maps the three dimensional treatment zone. The treatment zone is then divided into a grid. The tracking software next guides the user along the grid ensuring that each treatment point on the grid is covered. The safety mechanism within the tracking system monitors treatment to ensure it is performed only within the treatment area. Treatment

What happens to the fat?

Why did I make a blog???


Well, after researching Ultrashape online for more than 1 year, I found it verrry hard to get any information from anyone who had had an Ultrashape treatment.

I did not know if Ultrashape or liposuction would be better for me. And I realized that there are soo many women, not just cancer survivors, also looking for something just like this, and want to know now if it really does work! (And it was so frustrating for me to not get any answers about this brand new technology, so I decided to share what I found with others this new technology.)


And I like teaching technology, blogs, spanish, and esp. truly enjoy finding new tools like this majic wand that could make my flat tire tummy go away without surgery, so now a month later and many emails later from all over the world inc. Well now, I am so glad the I spent less money than liposuction would have cost me on this new option called UltraShape. And I had no pain, and it will not come back clumpy like after liposuction cottage cheese can and does. I know now it worked because I went from a size 16 dress size to a size 12, in just 2 months. And my waist in pants is a size 12, but my untreated thighs in pants is a size 14. What's important is that I only treated my waist area, so that is HOW I know it worked for me, as I lost inches ONLY exactly where I got treatments.

My results with Ultrashape . .

Well because of Ultrashape, I can NOW get into my FAVORITE floral dress in the pic below. Due to chemotherapy and 7 surgeries from cancer in 2005/20006, I could not put this dress around my waist as I had gained a tummy from medical menopause. I was so depressed, tried the gym, tried walking hours every week, tried ocbootcamp 4x, everything! And nothing would get rid of my stubborn menop. stomach fat! Nothing! So that is why I think Ultrashape will work for anyone, as it did work for this former post-menopausal, big, stubborn tummy of mine.
